John bhm

Hello,
My name is John and I started collecting Third Reich pistols twelve or so years ago when my oldest son who was 14 at the time started reenacting WWII German. From the age of 8 or 9 he has been fascinated history and especially military history. As he started focusing on other countries I kept our small German handgun collection intact  and with my limited budget and his help have continued to add to the collection. I am starting to look at adding more accessories and personal items. I found this group while researching a buckle my son found me yesterday. 896x671896x1132896x419896x527

Intro

Hello,

My name is Faraaz and I live in the US. I am an engineer by profession but have always been fascinated by history. Just wanted to start a collection of historical artifacts (affordable). I would like to know if I can purchase such artifacts somewhere. WW1, WW2, Axis, Allied, Roman, Greek anything is fine so I can begin my collection.

Thank you.

My Introduction

Hey everyone,
I have been collecting for a few years now. My old friend actually got me addicted to this hobby when I was on a MEU with the United States Marine Corps. He gave me a Rally pin with Hitler's head on it and it has been a rabbit hole since that day. I collect a bit of everything. I have a few German Daggers, Helmets, and a decent (small) selection of combat awards.
I have been trying to refocus a bit of my collection and have been looking to add a bit of Marine Corps history into my personal museum.
Here is how I decorate the only room in my house where I am the one who makes the rules. :)
(I have a bit more.. A selection of American uniforms I have stored in my closet for now. I hope to be getting a bigger room in a few months when I buy a house.)

101st Airborne

On Dec 16, German artillery began the Battle of the Bulge. Brigadier General McAuliffe with the 101st Airborne Division arrived soon after. On Dec 22, the Germans asked for the American surrender, McAuliffe answered "Nuts!" The next day allowed airstrikes and parachuting of much-needed supplies. On Dec. 26, troops under General Patton broke from the impasse.1081x1131

Named set

I wish I had more information about this guy but im affraid his history is lost with time.

I bought this at a garage sale a few hours away from where I live. I included the spanges in the background as they were with the named set when I picked them up.

Monopoly Game

These Monopoly games were used in Ww2 by POWs. POWs were able to hide things in the game.

The Red Cross where able to get Monopoly games into the camps where POWs where being held.

Money, compasses, files, and anything else to help the prisoners escape were hidden in these games.

Here is my set without the board. (It would not fit in my light box) NFS286x381
