An Issue Case for an Early CEJ or J1 Luftwaffe Pilot Badge. Most appropriate for a Pilot Badge by C. E. Juncker of Berlin. The case is constructed out of a wood and pressed cardboard base that is covered in a simulated grained “brick pattern” blue leatherette. To the front is a round tombak push button. To the back is a gilded steel, staggered, piano hinge. To the very top in gold foil Gothic style script it reads: “Flugzeugführerabz.”. The interior-bottom of the case is constructed out of a pressed cardboard base that is covered in a light blue felt material that outlines the pin, hinge and catch assembly. The obverse top is slightly sunk in. The case shows age. The case measures approximately 3 1/16 inches wide and 3 1 /8 deep and 15/16 of an inch thick. A rare early case. - Lakesidetrader
