1939 – II Variation. The case is constructed out of a wood and pressed cardboard base that is covered in simulated grained black leather (Lederimitat). To the front is a gilded round steel, spring loaded closure button. To the back is gilded steel, staggered, piano hinge. To the very top is a press exterior crossed line border. The bottom interior of the case is constructed out of a pressed cardboard base that is covered in a black velvet material with an upper recess for the ribbon and lower one for the oak leaves loop. The interior top is constructed out of an off-white satin material and has an underlying pad. It shows a recess where the oak leaves rested. There is some ageing scuffs to the interior velvet and boarded cloth lining. The exterior shows a scuff to the top lower right-hand side along with minor ageing throughout. There is some minor oxidization to the push buttons tongue. The case measures approximately 4 inches long, 3 1/16 inches wide and deep and 7/8 of an inch thick. Accompanying the case is the appropriate tri-color (schwarz-weiss-rot) oakleaves ribbon. - Lakesidetrader
